How long have you been in the industry? How long have you been at DEI?
I have been fortunate enough to start work in this industry at DEI three years ago.
What projects are you currently working on?
The real question is ‘what aren’t I working on?’ I have a few residential remodel and additions, some residential and commercial framing repair, a new custom home and a couple soldier pile shoring wall projects.
What was your first job?
My first real job was at Silverworks in Seattle, WA. They primarily sell silver jewelry.
• What would you be doing if you were not a structural engineer?
I would like to make ceramic pieces. Ideally on a beach in New Zealand. I got a taste of throwing pottery in college and have been trying to get back into it ever since. I had the opportunity to go to New Zealand last winter (it was summer there) and could live on the beaches there.
What is your favorite way to spend the weekend?
That depends if it’s sunny or rainy. If it’s cold and rainy, I would like to stay in and cook, bake and watch movies. If it’s warm and sunny I need to be outside either hiking up to a lake or swimming and playing outdoor volleyball. Ideally each of these activities are with friends and not by myself.
What is your favorite TV show?
It’s probably The Office. It’s just so awkward and funny.
Where is the farthest place you have traveled?
I’ve been fortunate enough to have traveled quite a bit in my lifetime. But Queenstown, NZ is probably the furthest I’ve traveled at 7,637 miles or 12,290 km from Seattle.
