The Northwest Organization for Animal Help (NOAH) is dedicated to providing compassionate care and resources for animals in need. As a leading nonprofit in our community, NOAH focuses on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals, offering a variety of services to support both pets and their owners. Their mission is to improve the lives of animals and enrich the lives of those who care for them.
We’re excited to announce that the NOAH project is almost complete, and the transformation of the original structure has been remarkable! The facility, which started as an 80’ x 60’ pole barn, is being converted into a modern animal care center that will serve the community for years to come.
Our team, alongside the talented architects from MD Architects led by Jennifer Phang, and engineers Beth Jensen and Suhib Hammad, have worked diligently on this project. We performed a detailed analysis of the existing stick-framed trusses to ensure they could handle the new loads. As part of the remodel, we installed a new lateral-force resisting system, reinforced the roof with plywood for diaphragm action, and added plywood sheathed shear walls between the existing pole columns. Additionally, a new concrete slab has been poured, ensuring a solid foundation for the facility.
This project reflects our commitment to improving spaces that have a meaningful impact. We’re excited to see the final result and the positive change this facility will bring to both the animals and the community.
