Habitat Veterinary Hospital in Boise, Idaho, has been honored with the prestigious 2024 Hospital Design of the Year Award by dvm360. This recognition celebrates excellence in veterinary hospital design, highlighting the facility’s innovative layout, state-of-the-art equipment, and commitment to creating a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.
We at Dibble Engineers were thrilled to participate in this outstanding project, contributing the structural design that supports the hospital’s cutting-edge architecture. The project was expertly led by professional engineer Jorden Cox, P.E. , whose leadership and vision were integral to bringing this award-winning design to life.
“Habitat Vet Clinic was a unique design concept due to both vertical and horizontal irregularities and the desire for long spans and large interior spaces. These irregularities add depth and aesthetics to a building but also offer interesting engineering challenges. The building is comprised primarily of wood framing, with large, exposed glulam beams providing the main roof support. Habitat had a lot of unique detailing conditions that required close coordination with MD architects to achieve the desired aesthetic without sacrificing structural stability. Idaho’s recognition of the Habitat Vet Clinic validates all the hard work and long hours that went into designing that facility. Congratulations to Jennifer Phang and all other members of the design team that made this vision a reality.” – Jorden Cox
